DIRECTIONS to
the St. Joe Riverfront B & B located at 816 Shepherd Road St. Maries,
ID
If you are arriving by air into the Spokane Airport,
you are less than 1 1/2 hours from you destination. From Spokane,
take I-90 east to the Pines Exit. Turn right (south) onto Pines
and follow it as you cross Sprague Ave., continue on Pines and you will
pass an Albertson's on your left. You are now on highway 27 to
Rockford. Turn left when you reach Rockford (speed limit 25 mph) and
proceed through town taking a right at the Bank of Fairfield leading out
of town.
This highway will take you to Idaho Highway 95
just north of the Coeur D' Alene Indian Tribal Casino and Worley. Turn
right onto Hwy. 95 and proceed through Worley to Plummer. When
you enter Plummer look for a sign above the highway in the middle of
town showing a left turn to St. Maries and Heyburn State Park. At
this point you are 16 miles from your destination.
Continue on Hwy. 5 and note the mile markers as you go
along with the beautiful scenery as you will follow the lake(s) for
several miles. At the end of the lake you will go through Parkline and
up a fairly steep grade and upon reaching the top you will begin your
final descent towards St. Maries. After you have reached the bottom of
your descent you will soon come to a sharp hairpin corner. As you
come out of the corner look for mile marker 16. Just 1/4 mile ahead you
will see on your right a road sign indicating Cherry Creek Rd. where
you will signal that you are turning left.
Turn left onto Cherry Creek Rd. which turns into
Shepherd Rd. As you come to the railroad tracks look straight ahead
(large cedar looking home with a green roof) to see your final
destination. Follow Shepherd Rd. for approx. 1 mile (speed limit 20 mph)
and note the mailbox numbers as you go. As you round a sharp corner you
should be looking for a circle driveway with a water fountain in the
middle surrounded by flowers and grass. You've arrived at 816 Shepherd
Rd.
Congratulations & welcome, we didn't lose you along
the way!
From Coeur D'Alene, take I-95 south to Moscow
and Lewiston. Follow the same directions above passing through Worley
until Plummer. It is only a 1 hour drive from Coeur d'Alene to St.
Maries. Or you may chose a more scenic drive via the Harrison exit or
Rose Lake Exit off I-90 eastbound. Please note that the Harrison exit is
the most scenic as you follow the highway around the east side of Coeur
D'Alene Lake for several miles to Harrison. It is quite windy and will
take 20-30 minutes longer than the Rose Lake road which is approximately
45 minutes to St. Maries. As you cross the bridge above the St. Joe
River into St. Maries, you will come to a 4-way stop. Turn right and 1
block up you will turn right again which will take you through downtown
St. Maries. After leaving town, approximately 2 miles you will see the
"Cherry Creek Rd." on your left. Turn right onto Cherry Creek Rd.
which becomes Shepherd Rd. and follow the same directions as
outlined above if you were coming from Spokane.
