Cary and Val Day have loved the St. Joe River for over 35 years and have spent a good portion of that time escaping to this area to relax, rejuvinate and unwind with the family.  In 2002 we were busy handling the numerous details required to own and operate a large, successful travel agency in Spokane. Several events lead us to a joint decision that it was time to have a new challenge.  After 27 years of planning or escorting travellers to various destinations, we knew we had found the key to what people are looking for when they are away from home, regardless of why.  The very elements that had kept us in business, great service, attention to details, and effective communication with our clients would also be important to B & B guests.   These, along with wonderful food, hospitality, and location would serve as the keys to a successful B & B.

Building a home takes alot of patience and creativity, which we evidently had.  Getting the entire family involved in everything from sanding, painting, sewing bedspreads, hauling tons of rock, places tons of stone for the beautiful landscaping and adding those special touches to the inside and outside of our home kept us busy for almost a year. 

With the home completed, we are now in our sixth year of welcoming people travelling to the St. Maries area.  Whether it is a couple stealing an evening or two wanting to rekindle the romance, or a tired business person just wanting a comfortable night's rest, we have opened our doors and hearts to them.  They may enter as strangers, but they leave us as friends.
